On Wednesday (July 13) evening, Tuscola County Sheriff Deputy Kyle Broecker was sent to investigate a breaking and entering that was in progress.
Deputy Broecker, with the assistance of Sergeant Ryan Robinson of the K-9 unit and Michigan State Troopers, responded to the home on Chambers Road in Fremont Township, where the resident, who was not home at the time, called the police around 6:45 p.m. to report that a black Jeep was backed up to his house, with the back door left open when no one was supposed to be home. Upon entry, responding officers found a 39-year-old Flint man with quick access to a rifle, but arrested him without incident. It appears that, instead of taking items rom the residence, the man brought items with him, such as a large amount of methamphetamine and stolen items from other recent area home break-ins.
He is currently lodged at the Tuscola County Jail for charges of home invasion in the first degree, larceny, possession of methamphetamine and felony possession of firearms.
