Sanilac County Sheriff deputies received a report around 7: 35 a.m. yesterday (July 14) morning about a two vehicle crash at the intersection of West Sanilac Road and Ubly Road in Moore Township.
Moore Township Fire and Sanilac EMS joined deputies on the scene, were it was determined that a 22-year-old Marlette man had been driving his 2010 Chevrolet SUV east on West Sanilac Road when, while attempting to turn north on Ubly Road, he was struck by a westbound Ford Work van. The van was being driven by a 27-year-old Sandusky man.
Both men were wearing their seatbelts at the time and airbags did deploy during the accident. Sanilac EMS transported the Marlette man to Marlette Regional Hospital, and names will not be released while the crash is under investigation.
The Michigan State Police and Sanilac County Animal Control assisted at the scene.
