A group of 4 teenagers from Huron, Lapeer and Tuscola Counties are in hot water today after being found at 2:30 a.m. this morning with an estimated $1000 worth of stolen marijuana and smoking paraphernalia.
Huron County Sheriff Deputy Keenan McGrath made the early morning traffic stop due to an equipment violation on the older Buick being driven by the teens. Pulling them over as they entered Caseville on M-25, near Caseville Road, Deputy McGrath found the four seventeen-year-old boys with the paraphernalia, including vape pens, with a large freezer bag of marijuana being found on them as well.
It was found that they had acquired the smoking material about an hour before the traffic stop, breaking and entering the Puff N Stuff Store in Bay Port, the town one of the teens are from. The Main Street store had been broken into a week earlier as well. According to Sheriff Kelly Hanson’s press release on the matter, “it’s appearing some or all of the occupants of this morning’s incident were involved.” The other boys are from Unionville, Reese and Almont areas.
All four boys received tickets for the marijuana and were released to parents or guardians, with the incident being turned over to the Fairhaven Township Police Department for further follow-up and investigation.
