A 37-year-old man died this morning following a motorcycle crash with an SUV in Port Huron.
The crash occurred at 16th and Chestnut streets when the motorcyclist, heading west, failed to yield at a stop sign, resulting in him being struck by a small SUV driving north on 16th street. With Port Huron Police and Tri-Hospital EMS responding around 6:30 a.m., the motorcyclist was unable to be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene. 16th Street at Union and White streets is closed for investigation, though it was reopened by this afternoon.
The SUV driver, a 32-year-old woman was taken to McLaren Port Huron Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Also responding to the scene was the Port Huron Fire Department.
