A Lapeer man is in the hospital today after he was hit by a car while crossing the street last night.
Around 9:00 p.m. last night, August 25, Lapeer police responded to a report of a pedestrian accident at the intersection of Lapeer’s M-24 Main Street and part of M-21 called West Genesee Street. It appears that the 67-year-old male pedestrian had been crossing Main Street when he was hit by a 49-year-old man from Columbiaville driving south in a 2008 Chevrolet Impala.
The pedestrian was taken to McLaren Lapeer Regional Hospital, with police reporting his injuries as serious.
Assisted by the Lapeer County Reconstruction team, police are continuing their investigation.
