A 78-year-old Vassar woman passed yesterday following a one-vehicle accident on M-46.
Officers from the Michigan State Police Caro post report that they were called to the scene near Ringle Road around 4:20 p.m. Investigation found that the woman, Joyce D. Jackson of Vassar, was traveling west on M-46 when she went off the roadway, rolling into a ditch before striking a tree.
She later passed from her injuries at the scene, despite medical treatment being adminstered by Caro MMR. It is not believed that she was under the influence at the time of the accident.
Also responding to the scene with the Troopers was Vassar Fire Department and the Tuscola County Sheriff’s office.
