Officials say that alcohol is not a factor in an accident on Monday in Watertown Township. It was about 3:18 p.m. on October 3 when Sanilac Central Dispatch received a report of a two vehicle crash at South Sandusky Road’s intersection with French Line Road.
Upon arrival to the scene with the Sandusky Fire Department, Sanilac EMS and the Sanilac County Road Commission, Sanilac County Sheriff deputies determined that a 23-year-old man from Port Hope was driving north on his 2016 Terra Gator when he turned west onto French Line.
Doing so, the Gator entered the path of a southbound 2016 Chevrolet Malibu driven by a 46-year-old Croswell man. With him in the Malibu was his four-month-old grandson. Unfortunately, the Malibu struck the Gator, causing airbags to deploy in the car.
Though the 46-year-old man and his grandson had to be transported to McKenzie Hospital for injuries, investigation determined that all involved were properly restrained in their vehicles at the time.
