With plans for it to be the last survey, the Sandusky Community Schools Mascot Committee released a Google Forms survey on Tuesday, November 1, with the committee asking to have answers back before Wednesday, November 9.
With the four mascot options being the raptors, the ravens, the phoenixes or the wolves/coyotes, these results come from previous suggestions and surveys, which the committee spent several meetings discussing and narrowing down options, with the plan that, once narrowed down to five, logo designs would be the next step.
Each mascot option is accompanied by a proposed and not yet finalized logo, as well as multiple reasons why the committee felt the suggested mascot would work well with the school district, both in terms of history and moving forward. With logos in hand, the committee made one last selection before releasing mascot finalists for community feedback through this survey.
The survey comes about two weeks after the last board of education meeting on October 17, where tensions and feelings were high during public comment, and a week before the election day, where three seats on the board will be up for grabs.
The next school board meeting is Monday, November 21. Those interested in responding to the survey can find the Google Forms link on the Sandusky Community Schools’ Facebook page.
