Port Huron Police sponsoring Citizens’ Police Academy starting in March

The Port Huron Police Department is sponsoring the Citizens’ Police Academy for those eighteen years of age or older.
This free program will run March 16, 2023 to April 27, 2023 from 6pm to 9pm on Thursday nights at the Dr. Edward G. Acheson Applied Technology Center Building on the SC4 Campus located at 323 Erie St., Port Huron, MI 48060.
Port Huron Police Officers with the Major Crimes Unit (MCU), Drug Task Force (DTF), Special Response Team (SRT), and Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS) will be using hands-on experience to teach participants about various law enforcement topics. Citizens looking to participate can pick up an application from the Port Huron Police Department at 100 McMorran Blvd., Port Huron, MI 48060 or online at www.porthuronpolice.org.
Residents of Port Huron will be given top priority, but those outside the city limits are encouraged to apply by February 23, 2023, the deadline for all applications. Anyone with questions about the program may call Community Service Officer Sam Baker at (810) 984-9715.
