Carjacker caught in Brown City arraigned as adult despite being 17-years-old

The carjacking suspect caught in Brown City on Monday faced arraignment on Wednesday, March 1, with the 17-year-old man being charged as an adult due to his actions.
The boy is being charged with felony carjacking, unlawful imprisonment, larceny of a firearm and possession of a firearm during a felony.
The originating incident started shortly before 7:00 a.m. on February 27 when an elderly man stopped by a Mobil Gas Station in Holly. With the suspect claiming to have a gun, he had the elderly man drive home, where he took the keys and fled.
The car was ultimately tracked and disabled in Brown City via the vehicle’s GPS system, with the 17-year-old being tased by a Sanilac County Sheriff’s deputy after resisting arrest.
The suspect is being held without bond at the Oakland County Children’s Village as court continues.
