This past Monday evening at approximately 8:34 p.m., Caseville police were dispatched to investigate the whereabouts of a 93-year-old man from Sand Point.
He was last heard from around 11:00 a.m. that morning. He was believed to have been traveling to Bad Axe, however, no one had been able to contact him since then. Tri-county law enforcement were advised to be on the lookout as searches were conducted in parking lots and several other areas around Sand Point. Although his phone would go to voicemail, the police moved to routinely search his residence during the night.
On Tuesday, shortly before 8:00 a.m., he was found deceased, approximately three streets from his home. Preliminary investigation revealed he’d backed his vehicle into a yard off of Carolyn Street, almost up to a Betty’s Street address, and became stuck, likely having suffered a medical emergency.
Huron County Medical Examiner’s Office and Caseville Police both responded to the scene, believing no foul play to have occurred.
