The Sanilac County Drug Task Force has made two major arrests in the past month in some of the many ongoing and local investigations into methamphetamine around the area.
The first arrest happened Wednesday, March 8, following surveillance of a 30-year-old man in the 3000 block of Lexington Township’s Wixson Road. The man was known to have multiple felony and misdemeanor warrants out for him in Sanilac and St. Clair counties, and was located that Wednesday with a quantity of methamphetamine on him. Arrested on the existing warrants, he also faces new charges related to drugs and weapons he was in possession of.
Then this past Tuesday, after conducting surveillance in Sandusky, the Drug Task Force took a 22-year-old man from Deckerville into custody after he was found with meth during a traffic stop. Assisting at both scenes was the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office.
