
A devastating head-on crash in Clyde Township Wednesday morning claimed the lives of a 28-year-old woman and her unborn child.
The St. Clair County dispatch received multiple calls from citizen witnesses just after 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 5, reporting an erratically driving white pickup truck in the vicinity of Wadhams, as well as North and Lightle Roads in Clyde Township.
Within minutes, the white 2000 Ford Ranger pickup was traveling northbound in the 4700 block of North Road. The driver, a 17-year-old male from Port Huron, crossed the centerline of North Road and collided head on with a southbound Ford Focus, killing the female driver, who was pregnant.
The 17-year-old male driver suffered minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital.
The crash investigation is still ongoing and is being conducted by members of the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Unit and Detective Bureau.
