February and March were exciting months for Rocket, the little, blind dog adopted by Stonegate Village Assisted Living housekeeper, Chris Anderson.
Rocket, who became Stonegate’s official licensed emotional therapy service dog in March, was adopted by Anderson last fall, who later entered him into a PetCo sponsored contest. In February of 2023, Anderson and Rocket learned that Rocket was one of 18 winners nationwide in PetCo’s Love Stories campaign, winning $5,000 to put towards Carsonville Humane Society’s new kennels.
When not winning contests about his love, Rocket shows the love to Stonegate staff and residents, and is especially good at comforting the village’s Memory Care residents. While we don’t know what April holds for Rocket, his day to day schedule is booked with getting plenty of love and pets at Stonegate Village.
The staff encourages those who have never met this wonder dog and his owner to stop by and “meet the legend himself.”
