Michigan State Police Trooper Jerry Bockhausen of the Lapeer post was named the 2023 Child Advocate of the Year by the St. Clair County Child Abuse & Neglect Council last week.
Trooper Bockhausen is a community Service Trooper with the Michigan State Police where his focus is on public relations, working in the schools, and community outreach.
The trooper has been an integral part of school child abuse prevention programming as well as community roof sit for kids in St. Clair County. Bockhausen also coaches little league and gives of his time in many other ways helping youth in the community.
Trooper Bockhausen will be recognized and receive his award at the Dinner for Kids’ Sake on April 20, 2023.
