A Wednesday night accident in Evergreen Township between a vehicle and an Amish buggy sent one 18-year-old girl to the hospital.
Around 9:20 p.m. on April 12, Sanilac County Central Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call reporting that a 2004 Chevrolet Impala had rear-ended an Amish buggy on North Van Dyke Road near Shabbona Road.
Deputies along with Argyle Fire Department and Cass City EMS responded to the scene. Deputies’ initial investigation revealed that a 32-year-old Caro man was southbound on South Van Dyke Road in the Impala, when he struck the rear of an Amish buggy being operated by two women ages 18 and 20.
The 20-year-old woman was treated on scene by Cass City EMS, with the 18-year-old girl also being treated at the scene before being transported to McLaren Thumb Region Hospital in Bad Axe by ambulance.
Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this crash, but investigation is still ongoing.
