Last Tuesday, April 18th, at 3:20 PM, Sanilac County Central Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call reporting a two vehicle crash that occurred on South Lakeshore Road and Lexington Court in Lexington Township.

Initial deputy investigation determined that a 71-year-old Lexington woman driving a 2003 Pontiac Grand Am was stopped in the northbound lane. While attempting to turn west onto Lexington Court, however, she was rear ended by a 31-year-old Harbor Beach man driving a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado. The Lexington woman sustained injuries and was treated on scene by the Lexington Fire Department and Croswell EMS, before being transported to Port Huron McLaren Hospital. The Harbor Beach man was not injured. Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in the crash and both subjects were wearing their seatbelts. Further investigation by the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office is ongoing.
Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Lexington Police Department, Lexington Fire Department, and Croswell EMS.
