MDOT to start road work next week on M-25 bridge in Sanilac County, M-29 resurfacing in St. Clair County

Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will begin multiple road and bridge repair projects across the state next week, including M-25 bridge repairs in Sanilac County and M-29 resurfacing in St. Clair County.
MDOT will invest $950,000 in bridge improvements to the M-25 bridge over Forester Creek in Sanilac County. Work includes repairs to the bridge, drainage improvements and culvert replacements, concrete curb and gutter, guardrail, and bridge approach repairs.This work will improve the safety and operations of the bridge, while extending the life of the structure.
Based on economic modeling, this investment is expected to support 12 jobs. The work is scheduled to begin Monday, May 1, with an estimated end date of Saturday, July 15. While the work is being completed, traffic restrictions of one lane of alternating traffic will be maintained with temporary signals.
Meanwhile, MDOT will invest $1.9 million to resurface more than five miles of M-29 from Yankee Road to River Road, and from the north city limits of Marine City to Remer Road in St. Clair County.  The resurfacing work will improve the safety and operations of the roadway while extending the life of the pavement.
Based on economic modeling, this investment is expected to support 23 jobs.  The work begins Monday, May 1 and is expected to end Friday, June 30 of this year.  All work will be completed with lane closures and traffic regulators.
