The St. Clair County Drug Task Force arrested a man during a traffic stop last Tuesday, April 25, as he was a suspect in an ongoing narcotics investigation.
According to the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office via press release, the traffic stop occurred about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, with two search warrants also being executed at that time at addresses in Port Huron’s 3100 block of Electric Avenue and 2900 block of 22nd Street. The two searches yielded a dealer’s amount of crack cocaine, packaging materials, scales, prescription pills, an AK-47 rifle, ammunition and a large amount of money in cash.
The suspect, 33-year-old Deontae Drake of Port Huron, was lodged at the St. Clair County Jail, later arraigned last Friday, April 28, for charges including maintaining a drug house, possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine and felony firearm. He remains lodged at the county jail on a $50,000 bond.
Also assisting the task force at Tuesday’s scene were the St. Clair County’s Special Response Team and K-9 Division.
