Tuscola County Central Dispatch gave a quick heads-up to those in the Caro area Thursday, May 4, as Emergency Manager Steve Anderson, Prosecutor Mark Reene and other first responders once again hosted a mock crash scenario today at the Tuscola Technology Center.
The partnership between the Tech Center and Tuscola County officials is a great opportunity for students to see emergency responders work a crash scene. During this time, the students were able to see local fire departments extricate “critical” patients and law enforcement complete an impaired driver assessment and arrest.
Although this can be very interesting to bystanders, the county dispatch urged people to please stay away from the Tech Center, so as to let the area be open to regular business, and to give first responders and students the safety of no additional traffic. The Emergency Vehicles were staged near the rear entrance to Wal-Mart off of Cleaver Road.
This was an educational opportunity for students as they head into Prom season and into summer, the most dangerous time of the year for young and new drivers, statistically speaking. Tuscola County officials and the Tech Center thanks the community for their help, understanding, and support of the program and today’s mock crash scenario.
