The Sandusky City Council has several contracts to review tonight, considering both job contract negotiations and airport lease agreements during the May 15th meeting.
The council will be deciding if they want to rent land to Mike Van Alstine and Landsburg Custom Service LLC to build and maintain private plane hangars within the year of the lease agreement. While Van Alstine is seeking about 4250 square feet, Landsburg LLC is hoping for about 9450 square feet, with it being unclear how much the city could or would charge for the land.
Meanwhile, as a followup to their sterling performance reviews at the last meeting, both Police Chief Brett Lester and City Manager Dave Faber will be discussing their contracts with the council. Faber, who was praised last meeting for “constantly striving for excellence” in his work for the city, has been with the city for about 12 years now, overseeing multiple projects involving city infrastructure, business and more.
In addition to negotiating his own contract, Faber will also be discussing union negotiations with the council in closed session, with the Police Officers Labor Council contract also expected to come up during Monday’s meeting.
The council will be meeting at the Sandusky City Hall at 5:30 p.m., as usually scheduled.
