A Tuscola County woman couldn’t help but scream when she found out she won a $417,233 Fantasy 5 jackpot from the Michigan Lottery.
The lucky 63-year-old player, who chose to remain anonymous, matched the Fantasy 5 numbers in the April 30 drawing to win the big prize: 08-14-30-37-39. She bought her winning ticket online at MichiganLottery.com.
“I usually buy Fantasy 5 tickets online and I bought 10 tickets for this drawing,” said the player. “I checked the winning numbers online the day after the drawing and was bummed when I saw the jackpot had been won. The possibility of myself being the jackpot winner didn’t even cross my mind.
“I logged in to my Lottery account to see if maybe I’d at least won a few dollars. When the pop up came up showing my $417,233 Fantasy 5 prize, I started screaming! My husband ran upstairs because he thought something was wrong. When I showed him how much I’d won, he was in disbelief.”
The player visited Lottery headquarters recently to claim the big prize. With her winnings, she plans to invest and purchase a new vehicle.
Each Fantasy 5 play is only $1. For an additional $1 per play, EZmatch may be added to a Fantasy 5 ticket, giving players a chance to win up to $500 instantly. For an additional $1 per play, Double Play may be added to a Fantasy 5 ticket, giving players a second chance to win up to $110,000 in the nightly Double Play drawing.
