The Tuscola County Sheriff Department is investigating an assault incident at a bar in Dayton Township that occurred on Friday, May 19th just after midnight.
Tuscola County Deputies were dispatched to the “Friends Bar” located on 9975 Silverwood Road, for an assault in progress. It was reported that 10 to 12 people were fighting outside of the bar.
The two victims, a 26 year old North Branch woman and 26 year old man from Dryden were hit and kicked numerous times. Both received multiple injuries and were transported to a hospital by ambulance for treatment. The incident is believed to be in retaliation from an assault that took place months prior at the North Branch Bar & Grill.
Five people were arrested including two men, a 28 year old male from Clifford and a 27 year male from Fostoria, and three women – a 24 year old from Clifford, a 23 year old and 34 year old from North Branch. The charges issued were two counts of assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, two counts of conspiracy to commit assault with Great bodily harm, two counts of aggravated assault, and two counts of conspiracy to commit aggravated assault.
The investigation is still ongoing. Deputies were assisted by the Michigan State Police, Caro Police Department, and Vassar Police Department.
