On Friday, May 26, 2023, St Clair County Sheriff deputies were called to Algonac Harbor Club for a boating accident that had occurred at the marina.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered a 23-foot Cobia center console had crashed into a dock while attempting to park. A 66-year-old woman identified as Debra Fox was on the boat and was severely injured in the crash. CPR was started, and she was quickly transported to McLaren Macomb where she succumbed to her injuries.
A 66-year-old male driver was the only other occupant on the boat. The couple was from Clarkston.
Drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the crash.
