Sheriff Paul Rich reports that the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office kept busy over Memorial Day weekend.
Sanilac County Sheriff’s Deputies handled 92 complaints and performed 128 traffic stops with 24 citations issued and 111 verbal warnings. Sanilac County Corrections Deputies booked 5 subjects into the Jail stemming from arrests by Deputies and other police agencies from throughout the County and the court.
Sheriff’s Deputies also responded to 11 crashes, including 1 fatality accident.
The Marine Division was on the water this Holiday weekend in Lake Huron waterways in both Port Sanilac and Lexington Harbors. They conducted marine patrols which included safety inspections. No water related injuries were reported and no citations were issued.
The Sheriff’s Office Volunteer Aero Squadron conducted safety patrols from the air along the shores of Lake Huron.
