One woman is dead and another in custody after a love triangle turned sour earlier this week.
Shortly before 4:00am on June 6, 2023, St. Clair County Sheriff deputies were called to South Main Street in the Village of Capac. A 44-year-old male living at the residence called reporting an assault had occurred earlier in the evening and that one of the parties was not waking up.
Upon arrival, a 44-year-old Almont woman was found unconscious, yet breathing. Also in the home were the caller and another 44-year-old female, Raquelle Casillas, from Mussey Township. The female parties had been reportedly disputing on and off for days over a shared relationship with the male. The Almont woman was transported to McLaren Lapeer where doctors found severe head trauma. Detectives took Casillas into custody during the initial investigation on June 6.
On June 8, at 11:30am, the victim was pronounced deceased.
Casillas has been arraigned on a charge of open murder. She remains at St. Clair County Detention and Intervention Center after being denied bond.
