police-lights-2-2

Sanilac County Sheriff’s officials say that three people were injured during a Thursday morning car crash in Evergreen Township.
On Thursday, June 15, shortly before 11:30 a.m., Sanilac County Central Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call reporting a two vehicle personal injury crash at the intersection of Germania and Deckerville roads in Evergreen Township. Deputies along with Argyle Fire/Rescue, Sanilac EMS, Marlette EMS and Cass City MMR were dispatched to the scene.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene to find one vehicle overturned in the ditch with two injured occupants trapped inside. Argyle Fire/ Rescue used the jaws of life to remove the occupants from the vehicle. The other vehicle involved also had an injured occupant who was able to get out of the vehicle.
Deputy’s initial investigation determined that a 2017 GMC Sierra pickup driven by a 60 year-old Shelby Township man was traveling north on Germania Road and failed to stop at the stop sign. The GMC was struck by a 2013 Dodge Ram that was traveling westbound. The 2013 Dodge Ram was occupied by a 54 year old Snover man and his 56 year old female passenger, also from Snover. The collision caused the 2013 Dodge to leave the roadway and overturn in the ditch on the northwest corner of the intersection. The 2017 GMC also left the roadway into a field on the northwest corner of the intersection.
The Shelby Township man was transported to Cass City Hills and Dales Hospital by Marlette EMS for treatment of serious injuries. He was later transferred to Royal Oak Beaumont for further treatment of injuries. The man and woman from Snover were both transported to Marlette Hospital by Sanilac EMS and Cass City MMR for treatment of serious injuries. They were both later transferred to McLaren Lapeer Hospital for further treatment of injuries.
This crash remains under investigation but alcohol does not appear to be a factor. Deputies were assisted on scene by the Sanilac County Road Commission.
