Michigan State Police’s TriCity Post reports that a Tuscola County woman survived a Friday crash in Saginaw that resulted in the death of the driver.
The crash occurred at the I-75 south interchange, near Exit 150 on northbound I-675 around 7:30 p.m. on June 16. The crash saw authorities closing that part of the road around 8:00 p.m. on Friday night. Troopers report that the single-vehicle traffic crash occurred when the driver, a 60-year old man from Saginaw, lost control of his 2022 Dodge Charger, crashing into a guardrail then the ditch. The man did not survive his injuries.
His passenger, a 53-year old woman from Millington in Tuscola County, suffered minor injuries. With speed and alcohol suspected factors in the crash, the incident remains under investigation. The roadway was reopened by Saturday afternoon.
Assisting troopers at the scene were the MSP Traffic Reconstruction team and Saginaw County Crash Team.
