Only minor injuries reported following two-vehicle collision outside of Bad Axe

accident

The Bad Axe Police Department reports that both drivers in a two-vehicle crash yesterday walked away with minor injuries.

On Wednesday, July 25, police received and responded to a call after 2:30 p.m. concerning a personal injury crash on North Van Dyke Road, near Buschien Road. Officer Scott Zaleski investigated the crash, finding that a 2020 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by a 71-year-old Caseville woman, had pulled onto North Van Dyke Road as she left a private driveway.

Doing so, she failed to yield the right of way to a northbound 2022 Toyota Prius. The Prius, driven by a 68-year-old Kinde woman, was unable to avoid the Chevrolet, with the two vehicles colliding and causing damage.

Both drivers sustained minor injuries and both were transported to McLaren Thumb E.R via Central Huron and Elkton EMS.

Also assisting at the scene were the Bad Axe Fire Department, Huron County Sheriff’s Office and the Fairhaven Police Department.
