A Port Huron home had a surprise visit yesterday from an SUV that crashed into its front porch.
According to the Port Huron Police Department, on Tuesday, August 1, around 1:00 p.m., a 50-year-old Port Huron woman lost control of her SUV when her foot became caught on the gas pedal, sending the vehicle careening into a home in the 800 block of Stone Street.
Though no injuries were reported, with the residents gone at the time of the accident, the accident did knock an outside post down that was supporting a corner of the roof, as well as damaging the wood deck.
The driver declined medical attention, with Port Huron police reporting that they do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved.
