Northbound Range Road was closed for several hours yesterday afternoon following a fatal head-on crash between a semi-truck and a car.
The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office reports that around 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2, a 29-year-old St. Clair Township man was driving north on Range Road in his 2009 Buick Lucerne when the vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with a southbound semi-truck.
While the 61-year-old truck driver from Mt. Morris was only minor injured, the 29-year-old man was pronounced deceased at the scene. Agencies assisting at the scene included the St. Clair Police Department, St. Clair Fire Department, Michigan State Police and Tri-Hospital EMS.
Names remain unreleased due to the ongoing investigation.
