An Ubly resident and commercial lender at Northstar bank was arraigned Wednesday afternoon on charges of false pretenses and embezzlement, having allegedly taken over $100,000 over ten years.
Charles Allen Wright, age 58 of Ubly, appeared before Huron County District Court Judge David Herrington on August 16, at 1:00 p.m. for his arraignment. Wright is being represented by Bad Axe attorney Michael Murawski.
It’s not known how long Wright had been with Northstar Bank when the alleged activity began, with the Michigan State Police finding that the alleged activity itself happened between 2012 and 2022.
If convicted, Wright faces up to 20 years in prison and/or a $50,000 fine for the embezzlement charge, and up to five years in prison for a charge of false pretenses.
