Pilot uninjured after crashing into Huron County field

A Saturday afternoon flight didn’t take off as planned, with a New York pilot crashing in the middle of a Huron County soybean field.

Just before noon on Saturday, August 19, MSP Caro Troopers were dispatched to a plane crash in Huron County. The crop duster plane was taking off near Murdock and Caseville Roads, crashing into a soybean field. The pilot, who was from New York, was checked at the scene by EMS and cleared.

The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board were advised of the crash and will investigate more Monday. Troopers were assisted by Scheurer EMS and Winsor Twp Fire Department.
