St. Clair County Community College (SC4) will be kicking off its fall 2023 arts season with performances by the Lexington Bach String Quartet, on Thursday, September 14, at noon and 5 p.m. in SC4’s Fine Arts Theater.
The Lexington Bach String Quartet features the talents of four musicians:
Melody L. Wootton, first violin, is an active Detroit metropolitan area performer. She plays with the Detroit Opera, has been part of several Detroit Broadway shows, and works as a substitute violinist for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
Denice Anderson Turck, second violin, is the Lexington Bach Festival administrator, as well as a freelance violinist and music educator. Turck is Concertmaster Emeritus of the Adrian Symphony Orchestra, leader of Regency Strings, and performs with numerous regional orchestras.
Janine Bradbury, viola, is principal viola with the Flint and Saginaw Bay Symphony orchestras, a member of the Ann Arbor Symphony, an active freelancer, and educator.
Irina Tikhonova, cello, is an educator and coach, having been principal cellist of the Saginaw Bay Symphony, the Bijou Music Ensemble, and the Dearborn Symphony Orchestra. She is also a member of the Flint Symphony Orchestra.
Performance pieces will include those by Johann Sebastian Bach, William Grant Still, and Ludwig van Beethoven. The Lexington String Bach Quartet concerts are free and open to the public. For a list of upcoming events at SC4, visit sc4.edu/events/.
