A Saturday morning crash in Worth Township tragically took the life of a Croswell man, the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office reported this morning.
On Saturday, September 2, around 11:00 A.M, Sanilac County Central Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call advising a pickup truck crashed into a yard on E. Galbraith Line Road near Wildcat Road in Worth Township. Dispatch advised a man was located inside of the truck, unresponsive.
Deputies along with the Croswell Fire Department and Croswell EMS were dispatched to the scene. Deputies’ initial investigation determined that a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 74-year-old Croswell man, was westbound on Galbraith Line Road when the driver drove into the south ditch, jumped a driveway, and came to rest in the grass.
The male driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was pronounced deceased on scene. Alcohol appeared to be a factor in the collision. The driver of Silverado was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Deputies were assisted on scene by the Lexington Police Department. Names are being withheld at this time as this is an ongoing investigation.
