A 37-year-old Marlette man was arrested on several charges after shooting at his roommate during an argument.

Marlette Police report that yesterday, September 13 around 10:20 p.m., they and the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the 6500 block of Little Street in Marlette for a report of gunfire, with the roommate saying they had been shot at after a brief argument.

Arriving on scene, officers notified adjoining properties of the situation, establishing a perimeter around the residence. Later, the 37-year-old suspect was taken into custody without incident, and is currently being lodged at the Sanilac County Jail on multiple charges. A search warrant executed on the home recovered the weapon and other evidence related to the case.

The Marlette Police Department and the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Department were assisted by the Sanilac County K9 and Central Dispatch. This is still an active investigation, and the information is being reviewed by the Sanilac County Prosecutor’s Office.
