A Monday crash near Bad Axe left two cars damaged and at least one woman minorly injured, Bad Axe Police Chief Shawn Webber reported today.

Just before 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 16, Bad Axe Police responded to a two-vehicle crash on South Van Dyke Road, east of Outer Drive. Officer Scott Zaleski investigated the crash, finding that a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer, driven by a 43-year-old Bad Axe woman, failed to yield the right of way while crossing South Van Dyke Road on Outer Drive.

Doing so, she drove into the path of an eastbound 2022 Chevy Trax, driven by a 70-year-old Port Austin woman, who was later transported to McLaren Thumb ER with minor injuries. The collision also caused damage to both of the vehicles. The Bad Axe woman complained of pain but refused treatment at the scene.

Michigan State Police, the Bad Axe Fire Department, Central Huron Ambulance, Elkton Ambulance and the Port Austin Police Department assisted Bad Axe Police at the scene.
