With Election Day 2023 less than a month away, the Sandusky City Council was just one of several municipalities in Sanilac County needing to sign off on an early voting site agreement from the county clerk, doing so at Monday night’s meeting.
In addition to this agreement, the Sandusky City Council also reviewed several work bids, including columbarium installation at Greenwood Cemetery. The installation will eventually see three columbariums constructed and space for up to 288 urns made available, with the project encompassing site and foundation work.
The council also received a request by the city’s art council to hold next summer’s Lawn Chair Music Concert series at Sandusky’s Diamond Trail Park, as MDOT plans to begin their M-46 work in spring 2024 and the work will include stretches of street in front of the courthouse.
Other matters handled by last night’s council included a request by the Holy Family Parish to use Doerr Field for a trick or treating event, with the parish’s plan to set up six to 12 trick-or-treating stations around the park. Sandusky set trick-or-treating hours for 2023 on Tuesday, October 31, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
