With multiple thefts taking place at roadside farm stands across the county this past August and subsequent investigation stretching into the fall, the Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office have announced that they have arrested a suspect for at least two reported cases.
These thefts, which consisted of breaking into lockboxes and stealing the money, were taking place throughout Sanilac, Tuscola and Lapeer counties. During the investigation, authorities learned that a suspect for at least two of the recent thefts had been arrested for similar offenses just last year.
With evidence submitted to the County Prosecutor and warrants authorized, 42-year-old Christopher Alan Davis of Reese was arrested by the Tuscola County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday, October 19. Davis was lodged at the Sanilac County Jail before being arraigned in District Court for two misdemeanor counts on Friday, October 20.
Davis has since been released on a Personal Recognizance bond of $1000 and is scheduled back in court in November for his pretrial.
