Michigan State Police trooper Josh Koch of the Caro post is spearheading a winter coat drive for a third year, and urges the community to get involved.
Trooper Koch, who serves as a Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer, joined the Caro post in winter of 2019 and was recognized by the state earlier this year as the motor carrier officer of the year.
With donation and collection efforts made in 2021 and 2022, the coat drive has grown in the short time Trooper Koch has been with the agency. With 94 coats donated last year, this year’s goal is 100 coats even. All donations remain local to benefit those in need in the Thumb.
The MSP Caro and Tri-City Post’s will be accepting new and gently used coats, gloves, hats, and mittens (children & adults). Items can be dropped off Monday-Friday between 8am-4pm at either location. The Caro Post is located at 1485 Cleaver Rd, Caro, while the Tri-City Post is located at 2402 Salzburg Rd, Freeland.
Please give the gift of warmth this winter and consider donating to the drive.
