The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is hosting a public open house to discuss next steps as design work for the first phase of the Blue Water Bridge’s plaza improvements (Component 1) is completed.
MDOT staff and consultants invite community leaders, interested residents and local businesses to the Monday, November 13th event, which will run from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the  MDOT Blue Water Bridge Annex, located at 2127 11th Avenue in Port Huron.  This meeting will provide general project updates, future steps, updated timelines for phases of work, and results of the conducted noise analysis.
Based on the noise analysis, the project will result in traffic noise impacts on properties west of I-94 from the Black River to Garfield Street and south of I-94 from the Black River to Pine Grove Avenue. Due to this, MDOT is proposing the addition of noise barriers to lessen those impacts. The meeting will allow further discussion of the noise analysis, potential noise barriers, and review next steps for residents and property owners directly impacted.
