The Port Huron Police Department are sharing their gratitude to the community for investigative tips and extending condolences to the family and friends of Joshua Conant as the investigation into his death continues.
Conant, age 26 of Port Huron, was killed early last Saturday morning after he was restrained on the ground by Roche Bar bouncers during a fight he was allegedly trying to break up. When officers arrived on scene, they helped secure the 26-year-old man being held down by bar staff before recognizing that the man was unresponsive. Despite the efforts of officers, EMS and McLaren medical staff, Conant was pronounced dead shortly after arrival at the hospital.
In addition to thanking the community for their patience and for every individual who has come forward with information and witness statements, the department also assured them that the Michigan State Police is still leading the investigation and working at it diligently.
