A Thursday afternoon crash in Tuscola County between a car and a semi-truck on M-24 saw one woman injured and her vehicle suffering major rear-end damage.

Around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 9, Caro Post troopers were dispatched to the scene of an accident on M-24 near Darbee Road in Almer Township. Investigation found that a 44-year-old Saginaw woman had been driving north on M-24 in her 2018 Chevy Malibu when she slowed down to make a left turn into a private drive.

As she began to make her turn, a semi-tractor trailer, driven by a 37-year-old man from California, hit her vehicle from behind, causing major damage to the car’s rear. The woman was transported by MMR for treatment at an out-of-area hospital. The man was uninjured, but cited for failing to stop in an assured clear distance.

The Malibu was towed from the scene and the semi was driven away. Troopers were assisted by the Tuscola County Sheriff’s Office, Fairgrove Fire, and MMR.
