Port Huron house fire sends two to hospital Thursday night

Two St. Clair County women rescued from a burning home Thursday night sustained life threatening injuries from the blaze.
The Port Huron Fire Department reports that crews responded around 11:30 p.m. on November 30, to a reported house fire in the 1100 block of Varney Street.
Responders were unable to search the home until the heavy fire was put out, with witnesses telling authorities that at least two people were still inside the home when the blaze began. Two women survived the fire, with the 72-year-old and 94-year-old both requiring medical transport for life-threatening injuries.
Authorities are still investigating the fire.
