With “No Shave” fundraising efforts continuing into December, The Sanilac County Sheriff’s Office recently gifted a $400 donation to the Prostate Cancer Understanding Prevention Screenings (P.C.U.P.S.) Foundation.
The foundation helps increase awareness of men’s health and wellness needs by providing Prostate Specific Antigen Blood Screenings. The program began in October 2011 after local resident Tom Albrecht approached Marlette Regional Hospital about combining efforts to raise funds and create a higher awareness in the fight against cancer.
This past Friday, Sheriff Paul Rich presented Albrecht with the office’s $400 contribution to the program’s efforts.
In November, the Sheriff’s Office partnered with the Blue Water Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution to help support the “Wreaths Across America” project, raising $400 toward this great project. Wreaths Across America helps place wreaths on the graves of our Veterans Across the Blue Water area.
This year’s wreaths will be placed on Saturday, December 16th during the National Wreaths Across America Day.
