The Croswell City Council kicked off 2024 with a brief meeting this past Wednesday, January 3, 2024.
Council members approved a new appointment by the Downtown Development Authority (DDA). The DDA helps analyze the impact of economic changes and growth in the Downtown Development District. It also develops plans alongside city commissions concerning community development. The appointment came about following the retirement of one of its members: Jeff Dunsford.
“[He] is retiring from his career and is also retiring from the DDA,” City Administrator David Tait said at Wednesday’s meeting. “We obviously thank him for his many, many years of service.”
After being submitted to the Council for approval, the appointment was passed unanimously, allowing Greg Mason to be appointed to the Authority.
The Council also addressed the final payment due for Boddy Construction Co. Inc., a general contracting company based out of Port Huron. A total of $5,500 was approved by all members regarding the company’s wastewater improvement plans. The company will be returning in the spring.
The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 16, 2024.
