Sanilac County Community Foundation Awards $23,486.32 in Grants

The Sanilac County Community Foundation is pleased to announce that nine organizations benefited from $23,486.32 in combined funds during the foundation’s Fall grant round.
Organizations awarded included Marlette Regional Hospital, Peck Community Schools’ National Honor Society, McKenzie Memorial Hospital, Hunter Hospitality House, the Sanilac County Historical Society, the Sanilac Area Violence Elimination Council, the Croswell Area Food Truck, the Rainbow Connection and Brown City’s Park Board.
While some grant awards covered building projects, with Brown City’s Park Board receiving $5,000 for WiFi and security equipment installation at the city’s community park, others focused more on furthering the existing program, with Hunter Hospitality House receiving $3,000 to fund the stays of Sanilac County residents at the Port Huron non-profit.
Since its inception, the Sanilac County Community Foundation has granted over $4 million dollars into Sanilac County.   • Marlette Regional Hospital, awarded $2,000 for 2024 Sports Summit
  • The Rainbow Connection, awarded $2,000 for Sanilac County Wish Families support through Special Response Program
  • Peck Community Schools’ National Honor Society, awarded $2,000 for Weekend Food Backpack Program’s food purchases
  • Sanilac County Historical Society, awarded $2,086.32 for their parking lot lighting project
  • Croswell Food Truck, awarded $2,400 to purchase two semi-truck loads of food for distributions
  • Sanilac Area Violence Elimination Council, awarded $2,500 for education materials on dating violence and avoiding sexual coercion
  • McKenzie Memorial Hospital, awarded $2,500 for eight adult and four infant CPR manikins with rolling bag
  • Hunter Hospitality House, awarded $3,000 to fund Sanilac County residents’ stays at the Hunter Hospitality House buildings in Port Huron
  • Brown City Park Board, awarded $5,000 for Wi-Fi and security equipment at Brown City Community Park
