Missing Dryden Township teen found safe

In a follow-up to a story we reported yesterday, Lapeer County authorities now say a missing Dryden Township teenager has been found. Nathan John Baughman, age 17, had last been seen on New Years Day. He was found Thursday morning, shortly after 8:00 a.m. by troopers from the Michigan State Police Metro South Post in Taylor, who immediately notified the Dryden Township Police Department that Nathan had been located and was safe.
In a notice issued to the public late last week, the Dryden Township Fire Department advised that the boy has high-functioning autism as well as social anxiety. Baughman has a history of running away, doing so for almost a week in early April of 2023 before being found near the Ohio border by Michigan authorities.
Nathan is healthy, and is currently being reunited with family. Lapeer County Search and Rescue, Lapeer County Central Dispatch, Michigan State Police, and several other statewide agencies assisted Dryden Township police in the search.
