Two Thumb-area men have a little extra green in their pocket after winning separate prizes from the Michigan Lottery.
The 64-year-old St. Clair County winner had only been playing with a new set of numbers for a few months when he won $500,000 via a Club Keno Extra Prize. He bought his winning ticket at SD Liquor, located at 50093 North Gratiot Avenue in Chesterfield. When he first scanned his ticket, at first he thought he’d won $500, but upon a second look, realized it was actually $500,000.
With his recently claimed winnings, he plans to purchase a new vehicle and then save the remainder.
Meanwhile, a Tuscola County man plans to buy a lot of cake to celebrate winning $260,975 via the BIG CA$H Second Chance drawing on January 10. The 44-year-old player noted that he was relieved when he saw that he had won a jackpot, saying that “winning this prize came at the perfect time.”
In addition to the celebratory cakes, the man plans to invest his recently claimed winnings into real estate.
