With a preconstruction meeting scheduled for next week and the needed equipment and supplies starting to arrive, Sandusky City Manager Dave Faber announced Monday that the M-46 Watermain Project should begin construction by the end of the month.

The project is slated to replace the existing watermain and construct a new one along M-46 from Maple Valley Road to Orval Drive. The watermain project will be the subject of a meeting next Monday, February 12, with the work expected to start in March and planned to take place in tandem with MDOT’s M-46 work, which will start at Sandusky’s Maple Valley Street and extend to Carsonville’s west village limits.

City Manager Faber was also presented a mentorship award by the Michigan Municipal Executives during the February 5th meeting, with city managers Chuck Bennett, of Brown City, and Tim Heiden, of Peck, also at Monday’s meeting to congratulate Faber for the award. The Sandusky City Council will meet next on Monday, February 19.
